PART SIX

(In the next scene, Stitch arrives at the destroyed lighthouse.)
Stitch: Hello? (Pause) Hello?
(He then hears some coughing coming from the ruins, and quickly runs over and moves some of the broken pieces off a large pile of them. There he finds Sparky buried under all the ruins. He has a few cuts and bruises on his face, and scratches and scars all over his arms. His right arm is broken, and his right eye is black.)
Stitch: (gasps) Oh, no… Sparky!
Sparky: (weakly) Cousin.
Stitch: Come on, let's get you out of there.
(He grabs Sparky's left hand and right armpit, and pulls his body completely out of the ruins. He now has many more scars and bruises all over his body, and both his legs are broken. As a result of this, he collapses on Stitch with his right arm over his shoulder and left hand still in Stitch's hand. He is also breathing patchily.)
Sparky: Thank you, Stitch.
Stitch: Sparky, what happened? Who's done this?
Sparky: You know those things that we all took out once? You know, they were red. And they looked a little like you.
Stitch: The Leroy clones!
Sparky: That's right. Well, there was, five of them, I think. That's right, five! And they took me by surprise, two of them grabbed hold of my arms and my legs, then there was another three. I tried to shock them but they were too quick. I had no chance.
Stitch: Oh my… what could they possibly be planning?
Sparky: What's that?
Stitch: Sparky, listen, something really big is going on. The whole army of Leroy clones have escaped from prison. They escaped with Hamsterviel and Ruby, and they've kidnapped Lilo.
Sparky: (gasps) No way.
Stitch: That's right. And there's a whole mess of other stuff going on too. But I'll explain later, right now I need to take you to the ohana. Is anything broken?
Sparky: Both my legs, my right arm, and I may have also broken some ribs. (Pause, tearful) And I'm homeless!
Stitch: Don't worry, Sparky, it'll be alright. Nobody gets left behind, so I'm gonna take you back with me to the others. And after all this is over, you can stay with us until the lighthouse is rebuilt. OK?
Sparky: Yes, OK.
(Sparky nods his head here as Stitch extracts his bottom two arms and carefully picks Sparky up with them.)
Stitch: Come on, let's go.
(He then starts walking away from the ruins, carrying Sparky in his four arms.)
Sparky: Thank you so much, Stitch.
Stitch: Anything for you, cous.
(Now at the hotel, Angel is outside, nervously waiting for Stitch to return. As she waits, HotShot and Melty, with Pele in her pushchair, arrive. Experiment 319, Spike, is also with them.)
HotShot: Angel!
Angel: HotShot! Melty!
Melty: Did you see the lighthouse explode?
Angel: Yeah, Stitch has just gone to check it out.
HotShot: There he is!
(Stitch runs up to the others, who immediately catch sight of Sparky in his arms and gasp in shock.)
Angel: (tearful) Oh my... what happened?
Melty: Was it the explosion?
Stitch: Not just that. He was beaten up by some Leroys.
Spike: Leroys?
Stitch: Spike, what are you doing here?
HotShot: We ran into him on the way over here, he's very worried. Nosy and Fibber have gone missing from the TV show set.
Sparky: It was the Leroys.
(They all turn to hear Sparky speak.)
Stitch: How do you know this?
Sparky: When they came for me, they had three of our cousins in containers. Nosy and Fibber were two of them, the other one was Snafu. And they must've done something to him cos he couldn't foul up their plans. They set a detonator up to the lighthouse after they left. I was weak but I managed to crawl my way outside. And then the lighthouse exploded, and I got buried under the ruins.
(Angel breathes in and out and struggles to find words.)
HotShot: Angel, are you OK?
Angel: No... I don't feel very good.
Stitch: Spike, can you take Sparky for a second?
(Spike takes Sparky in his arms while Stitch goes over to Angel. Melty, who is pushing Pele in her pushchair, also walks over to them.)
Stitch: OK, just breathe slow. OK? In, and out, slowly... calmly...
(Angel follows this advice and now takes slower, calmer breaths.)
Angel: This is just so messed up, you know? Lilo's been kidnapped, Gantu's in prison, Nosy and Fibber are missing, and now Sparky! They really are out to get us this time!
HotShot: OK, Angel, just relax. OK, I know how you feel but you need to relax. Stress isn't good for the baby.
(Short pause)
Angel: You're right. I think I need to lie down.
Stitch: Alright, sweetheart.
(He puts his left arm around her, and then turns to talk to the others.)
Stitch: Let's get them upstairs.
(Inside a large suite room, with three bedrooms, everyone else is unpacking. The five walk in, with Stitch carrying Sparky in his hands. Everyone turns around and notices, in shock, Sparky's condition. Jumba and Kolobos are the first to rush over there, with the others either following or looking over.)
Jumba: My experiment!
Stitch: It wasn't just the explosion that did this. He got beaten up by clones last night, then they set the lighthouse to explode, and that did the rest.
Cobra: He must be a very strong experiment to survive that.
Stitch: Well luckily he wasn't inside the lighthouse when it happened. If he had been I think he would be dead. But as it happens he managed to crawl outside but couldn't get any further away, so he got hit and buried by the ruins.
Kolobos: Still, with those injuries he's very lucky to be alive. Pass him to me. I'll put him in the third bedroom.
(Kolobos takes Sparky in his arms.)
Stitch: Third bedroom? Wow, you guys got a big suite.
Kolobos: We knew we were going to need three bedrooms. We're all sharing the first two between us, and thought you experiments might like to scramble over the large pull-out bed in the front room.
(All the experiments in the room react nicely to this, liking the arrangement. Stitch and Angel follow Kolobos into the third bedroom, where there are two beds, and a couple of cases of unpacked equipment.)
Kolobos: We wanted a third bedroom in case Angel goes into labour, but as soon as we saw the lighthouse explode we were worried that Sparky might have been hurt. So we're using this as a medical treatment room.
(He gently lays Sparky down on one of the beds. Stitch can also be seen helping Angel onto the other bed.)
Kolobos: OK, there you go, Sparky. You just take it easy, OK, we're gonna have a look at you in a minute. Jumba, can you set the X-rays and ECGs up in here please?
Jumba: Will get it done right away. And while I'm doing this, you could be looking at all the artillery we brought if you like.
Kolobos: Oh yes!
(He then walks up to another one of the cases, and opens it to find it full of guns and bullets.)
Kolobos: Wow. You packed a lot of ammunition.
Cobra: We can never have too much to spare knowing what we're up against.
(Looking through the case, Kolobos picks out an odd looking gun. It is fairly small and bulky, with a blue coloured cartridge installed, and what looks like a small satellite dish fitted at the front.)
Kolobos: Hey, Jumba... what's this?
Jumba: Ah, that is very recent invention! Is internal laser gun, when used on live victim or inanimate object, is very strong, very punishing! (giggles) Give it try on kitchen appliance.
(Kolobos points it at a kettle inside the kitchen. He shoots at it, firing a laser bullet and hitting it directly on target. However, after hitting the kettle, the shot disappears and the kettle appears unharmed.)
Kolobos: Uh, Jumba? It doesn't seem to have done anything. Maybe there's a mistake you made or something.
(His speech is then immediately cut off when he hears the kettle explode. The sound makes everyone in the room jump and go quiet, and we now see the kettle has been completely blown to pieces, and a waft of smoke is rising from it. Kolobos now looks very impressed.)
Jumba: (chuckles) That's why it is called internal laser gun. Unnoticeable to un-specialised eyes, it sinks into victim, and penetrates them from the inside! (chuckles again) Is genius, yes?
Kolobos: Very impressive!
(His mood then changes instantly as he puts the gun down.)
Kolobos: I'd better go clean that up.
(He walks over to the kitchen.)
Kolobos: And I'll probably never pick that thing up again! The rest of the weaponry looks good though. And they'll come in handy if I ever run out of fire.
Clip: Run out of fire?
Chris: Why would that happen?
(He returns to the main room to explain.)
Kolobos: Well you see, the flames that I can shoot from my hands are powered by a gas valve fitted inside the palm of each hand. Very small but very powerful. They're connected to my human body bones and organs, and after I was unfrozen, Jumba performed surgery that could've killed me, but ended up making me stronger. He mixed my blood and other body fluids with the molecules used to create you, Stitch, all the experiments, and then recharged them together in one body structure. Those molecules are what give me my powers, my immortality, and what makes me half-human and half-alien.
Clip: I see.
Chris: But how would that affect your power?
Kolobos: Well having experimental genes in my human body has one drawback: the two sides can't support each other forever, and while that doesn't reduce my flame power's strength, it does limit its durability. Unlike HotShot, who as a full experiment, never seems to run out of fire, I do. And I have to manually refuel by getting my hands to a hot enough temperature. But my other abilities; my martial arts, that's physical body strength. And the power to get anyone out of any bad situation, that's a power of the mind. So if I do run out of fire, I've got those to fall back on.
Nani: Well that last power you mentioned doesn't seem to have helped you out much!
Kolobos: What do you mean?
Nani: You didn't get Lilo out of getting kidnapped, did you? And you didn't get Sparky out of being injured either!
Jumba: Nani, please! We were not aware of these situations until after they had happened.
Kolobos: That's right. But now I am aware that they're happening, and they can be prevented from getting any worse. The bad situation that Lilo is in now, I can and will get her out of it.
(Pause, Nani relaxes before speaking again.)
Nani: You're right. I'm sorry.
Kolobos: You're just worried, Nani. We all are. There's no need to apologise.
(Everyone then hears a beeping coming from the other end of the room. It comes from a large tracking machine that Pleakley is sat by.)
Jumba: Is that tracking device?
Pleakley: Yeah, we've got something!
(The others rush over to look over at the machine. We can see a radar scanning screen with one medium-sized green light, one large green light, and several small red lights surrounding them.)
Jumba: It's the BRB!
Kolobos: How can you tell?
Jumba: Device can be programmed to find specific targets. Green lights represent what we are looking for, and red lights represent any obstacles surrounding them.
Stitch: So one of those green lights is the BRB?
Nani: What's the other one?
Jumba: I don't know. This thing can't trace or determine what's going on inside the ships, only where they are located. It's enough to tell us that that's where Lilo is. What are we needing now is someone to get in there and find out what's going on.
Pleakley: But look at all the red lights we've picked up on the screen!
Stitch: That's gotta be the Leroy army.
Victoria: There's hundreds of them everywhere. How can you get in without being spotted?
(Short pause, Kolobos quickly thinks to himself and then gets an idea.)
Kolobos: There's two people I know who might be able to do that.
(Next moment, Kolobos is on the phone.)
Kolobos: Yeah, two large margheritas, extra cheese on both, then two pepperonis, one with extra meat toppings, one barbecue and finally one vegetarian, small please.
Jumba: Small?
Victoria: That's for me. I'm a vegetarian.
Kolobos: Oh, and bring plenty of ketchup dips. (Pause) Yep, that's it, thanks. Also, are you gonna be delivering today? (Pause) OK, great. We're at the Kauai Palms Hotel, room 95. (Pause) Great, thank you.
(He hangs up the phone. Now at the pizza place, we see Bonnie hang up the phone and hand the order list to Clyde, revealing that the two of them now work there.)
Bonnie: Order up, Clyde! It's our cous and he wants a big family feast.
Clyde: You got it, Bonnie!
Bonnie: Although, curiously he didn't ask for a small Hawaiian with pineapple and anchovies. That's usually Lilo's choice.
(40 minutes later, everyone is waiting patiently, and then there is a knock at their door. Kolobos and Jumba both go together and answer the door to Bonnie and Clyde. Clyde stands holding all the pizzas.)
Bonnie: Family feast!
(Kolobos then grabs hold of Bonnie, and Jumba grabs hold of Clyde, and they both pull them into the room at the same time. Jumba then quickly shuts the door.)
Jumba: Sorry about that, guys.
Clyde: Yeah OK, if everyone's finished being crazy, that's $57.95.
Jumba: $57.95?
Bonnie: Yeah. Six pizzas, and the extra $3 are for all the ketchup dips.
Kolobos: Oh, that's my bad. Here, let me get this for you.
(He takes some notes out of his wallet and passes them to Clyde, before taking the pizzas from him.)
Clyde: Kolobos, you've given us $80.
Kolobos: Yeah, that's for the pizza and to cover both your tips for the rest of the day. OK everyone, lunch is served!
(He then passes the pizzas out among everyone, before opening a ketchup dip and starting to eat his own.)
Bonnie: Alright, can someone tell me what's going on here?
Clyde: Yeah, and where's Lilo?
Stitch: Well, that's actually the reason you two are here. She was kidnapped by Hamsterviel.
Clyde: What?
Bonnie: Oh, no!
Kolobos: He and the Leroy clones escaped from prison a few days ago.
Clyde: Ruby as well?
Kolobos: Of course.
Bonnie: Oh, I hate that girl so much.
Kolobos: Anyway, we need your help getting Lilo back. We've got their location, they're still on this island but they've hidden underground.
(Bonnie and Clyde walk over to the tracking machine as Kolobos sits down at it to show them.)
Kolobos: If you look over here at our tracking screen, these green lights represent two ships that our enemies have in their possession. They're holding Lilo inside one of them. All those red lights you see, we're guessing that's a batch of Leroy clones guarding the area. And that's where you two come in. We need you to help us sneak into that ship and get Lilo out of there, without being spotted.
(Long pause, Bonnie and Clyde stand silently, and look around at the others, all hoping for a good answer.)
Bonnie: OK, guys, look. We think it's really, really nice that even after you've turned us from bad to good, you still call on us to help you out with breaking and entering, but this is way out of our league! I want to help you guys out, I really do cos I want to get Lilo back, but I really don't see any way that sneaking in unseen is possible.
Clyde: What I would suggest is fighting one army with another.
(Stitch turns to them, suddenly looking concerned.)
Stitch: What do you mean?
Clyde: I mean we get all our cousins together, and take Hamsterviel's lair by force. You know, power our way through.
Stitch: No. We can't do that.
Clyde: Why not?
HotShot: Clyde has a good point, Stitch. Attacking full on might be the best choice, and there's still nearly 1000 of us who can do that.
Stitch: Naga! I'm not sending any experiments out there unless I absolutely have to. I'm sorry, I just can't do it.
Clyde: Why are you being so stubborn, Stitch? Whatever happened to "ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind, or forgotten"?
(Short pause)
Stitch: (sighs) This is different.
Bonnie: What are we looking at here, 100, maybe 150 at the most guarding the ships? That's nothing, we can take them! Our cousins can take care of those outside the ship, and then you and Kolobos can get on the inside and get Lilo out of there!
(Short pause)
Stitch: Come with me.
(He takes Bonnie and Clyde into the third bedroom. Angel is asleep in one bed. Stitch shows Bonnie and Clyde how Sparky is asleep in the other bed, and hooked up to a heart monitoring machine. He then shows Bonnie and Clyde screen pictures taken from Sparky's X-ray, and the brutal injuries leave them in shock.)
Stitch: You say that 150 maximum is nothing... but it only takes three of them to do this.
(Bonnie and Clyde keep looking at Sparky, and now understand Stitch's concerns.)
Stitch: That's why I can't send any more of our cousins out unless I feel I need to. I just can't risk their safety.
Bonnie: Now I understand.
(Angel then wakes up.)
Angel: Hey.
(Stitch turns around and goes to help her.)
Stitch: Hey, you feeling better?
(In the main room, we see Nicki and Clip listening to them closely.)
Clip: I hope this is helping you.
Nicki: Yeah, Clip. It is helping me.
(HotShot and Melty hear them and walk over to them.)
Melty: Helping you with what?
HotShot: What's going on?
Nicki: Oh, it's...
Clip: It's nothing.
HotShot: No, really. What's going on?
Nicki: Really, it's nothing!
(Short pause)
Jumba: If you're keeping something from us, don't. Anything you know about our enemies could be vital.
Cobra: Jumba's right, no secrets.
Nicki: Oh, alright, alright! (Pause) It's about the original Leroy. I... I...
(Long pause) I have feelings for him.
All: What?
Stitch: You what?
Clip: Guys, please don't judge her. She is trying to get over him.
Pleakley: Well what is it about him anyway?
Nicki: There was just something about him that I really liked. And part of me thought he could turn from bad to good.
Stitch: Nicki, he's working for our enemy! An enemy who just so happens to have kidnapped Lilo, put Gantu in prison, and for all we know could put the whole world in danger!
Nicki: I'm aware of what he's doing, Stitch! My feelings go back way before all this happened. I heard about him and then I saw a picture of him and then... I don't know, it just happened. And I am trying to get through this but, it's not as easy as you think. You don't know what it's like to fall for someone you know you can't have.
(Her speech crumbles towards the end. She sniffles but does not cry. However, knowing that she is sad, Angel walks over to Nicki.)
Angel: Aww, honey.
(The two share a hug, before Nicki moves away and shows them the photo of Leroy she has.)
Nicki: And I really am trying, look, I keep looking at this picture and...
(Kolobos suddenly has a thought here.)
Nicki: … I think maybe I am now starting to see him as our enemy, and as my enemy too.
Kolobos: Wait a minute.
(Kolobos takes the photo from Nicki's hand. He then sits down on the bed with Jumba's laptop, putting the photo in front of the screen. He quickly searches through the experiment files until he finds the file for Morpholomew. He leaves it on the screen and turns back around to address the others.)
Kolobos: We got a way in!
(Later that night, when it's dark, Stitch, Bonnie, Clyde, Chris and Clip go out to find Hamsterviel's lair. They are accompanied by Morpholomew and Digger. Back at the hotel, everyone is watching the radar screen, and Jumba sees a few new green dots appear on screen from the right. He then calls Clyde, who answers the phone installed in his mechanical arm.)
Clyde: Hello?
Jumba: OK, you're at the right spot. Dig there.
Clyde: Got it, Jumba.
Jumba: Good luck, and be careful.
(Jumba hangs up, and Clyde swaps his phone back for his hand. He then points downwards, signalling for Digger to start digging underground. He does this, and as soon as he digs into the ground deep ground, he then digs at the sides to make them wide enough for the others. Once this is done, they follow each other down into the hole.)
Stitch: Thanks, Digger. Now get as far away from here as possible, OK?
(He nods his head and then quickly climbs out. Stitch then starts to scratch and break his way forward through dirt and granite until only a thin layer is left. He can see through this and catches sight of the two ships, and the clones guarding them.)
Stitch: (whispers) There they are.
(Stitch now blinks his eyes, turning them red and turning on  his X-ray vision. He uses this to look inside the BRB straight ahead. After quickly scanning it, he notices nothing or nobody is inside, and then turns off the X-ray vision.)
Stitch: The BRB is empty. Lilo's inside the other one. When we get inside, Chris and Clip, you go to the left side of the ship and see what you can find. Bonnie and Clyde, you go to the right. I'll go after Lilo. And if something happens to me, don't come after me.
All: Got it.
(He takes out the picture of Leroy and holds it out to show Morpholomew.)
Stitch: OK, Morpholomew, you know what to do.
(The experiment takes note of the picture's image, and then one by one, transforms the five of them into identical Leroy copies. However they retain their original voices.)
Stitch: Mahalo, cousin.
(Stitch hands the photo to Morpholomew, who climbs out of the hole and runs away to safety.)
Stitch: OK, I can probably do the best evil voice so when we go in there, let me do the talking. OK?
All: Right.
(They all then quietly walk through the last layer of dirt in front of them, and arrive in with the pack. They all walk further in and are soon noticed by a couple of clones.)
Clone #1: Hey! What are you guys doing?
(Stitch answers with a deeper, more evil sounding voice.)
Stitch: Well, we actually have no idea. I mean, Ruby told us to keep watch outside, then we thought we heard Hamsterviel tell us he wanted us to be on patrol inside the ship and... well, we all got really confused so...
Clone #2: Hey, don't sweat it. There's a lot of us, it's easy to get confused. Why don't you all go ask Hamsterviel yourselves? He's in his office.
Stitch: OK. Thank you.
(The five of them then walk through the crowd and up to the hideout. In the hotel room, the others are keeping watch on the radar screen, tracking them by following five moving green dots.)
Jumba: OK, they're going, no one's stopping them...
Pleakley: I think the plan's working.
Cobra: Almost there...
Kolobos: And...
(On screen, the green dots are now at the larger red dot, and then they all disappear.)
All: They're in!
(Inside, the five slowly walk through the building, down the hall. Stitch then looks up, pokes Clyde and then points upwards. This gets the attention of all five of them.)
Stitch: Up there!
(They all look up to notice a gate in the ship's vents.)
Stitch: We'll go up through the vent. Everyone grab onto me.
(Bonnie, Clyde, Chris and Clip all grab onto Stitch, and carrying them all, he climbs up the wall, then the ceiling, and then goes into the vent.)
Stitch: Everyone remembers what they're doing?
All: Ih.
Stitch: Alright, let's go.
(The five then all split up and go their separate directions. Chris and Clip go left, Bonnie and Clyde right, while Stitch walks straight on.)
(As he walks through, he checks every vent gate he passes. He stops by one above Leroy and Ruby's bedroom, and looks down to see what they are doing. Inside their room, Ruby is sat at a table as Leroy puts a record into their record player. He starts it to play the song Ruby by Ray Charles, and then brings out two plate of food. He puts his down on the other side of the table, and then brings Ruby hers, which is covered by a tin lid.)
Leroy: Here you go, Rubes. Dinner is served!
(He removes the lid to reveal the prepared meal, and Ruby looks very happy about it.)
Leroy: 8 oz steak, medium rare, with fried chips, just the way you like it.
Ruby: Oh, you are so sweet!
(She kisses him on the lips. Watching from above, Stitch looks disgusted at what he sees.)
Stitch: Eugh!
(He then quickly moves on through the vent. After walking a little further, he stops at the next gate, and looks through it to learn that he has found the imprisonment room, where Lilo is being held. Inside, we see Lilo still trying to force herself out of her ropes, unsuccessfully trying to force her wrists free, as well as her body. She soon sighs, giving up again.)
(Stitch then sees a wire inside the vent, which leads to a security camera inside the room. He yanks it, pulling the wire out of the back. Hamsterviel and Pestus are in their office watching screens of all the fitted cameras on one big screen, and they notice the camera in that room lose signal.)
Hamsterviel: What? What is this?
(Pestus goes to the door and steps outside the room. He address the clone guarding it.)
Pestus: Hey, the imprisonment room camera's out. Can you have a look at it?
Clone #3: Sure.
(The clone then jumps up into the vent. Stitch hears him coming, but is prepared for when he meets with him.)
Stitch: It's OK, I've got this one.
(He opens the vent gate into the imprisonment room, and crawls on the wall towards the camera. Lilo looks upwards as he does this. When Stitch gets to the camera, he takes the loose cable and reconnects it into the camera. He then gives a thumbs up to the clone, who then walks away.)
(Once he is out of hearing distance, Stitch then disconnects the camera again and starts crawling up the ceiling, heading for the pillar. He jumps onto it, behind Lilo, and slides down it to meet her.)
Stitch: (in normal voice) Lilo.
(She looks over her shoulder to see him.)
Lilo: Stitch?
(Stitch then jumps off the pillar and in front of her.)
Stitch: Oh h- hiiiiii!
(Lilo now smiles, feeling relieved.)
Lilo: Stitch!
Stitch: Lilo, are you hurt?
Lilo: No. But I am very scared, Stitch! Please get me out of here!
Stitch: Don't worry, I got you!
(He moves over to Lilo and starts to pull at the ropes, trying to break them. The clone Stitch encountered now returns to Hamsterviel's office.)
Clone #3: That's taken care of, sir.
Hamsterviel: Oh no it is not! I still have no picture!
Clone #3: What?
(Confused, the clone now looks at the big screen and notices that camera is still without signal. He then looks suspicious. Meanwhile, Stitch is still trying furiously to untie Lilo, but is unable to do so.)
Lilo: Stitch, the ropes are only tied around my body. There's a metal bar that's keeping me stuck to the pillar.
(Noting this, Stitch now moves in front of Lilo, and quickly finds the bar holding her to the pillar.)
Stitch: Yingabah!
(He grabs hold of the bar to pull it off, but it briefly sends an electrical shock through his body, causing him to quickly let go and fall back to the floor. The impact causes Stitch to lose his Leroy disguise and turn back to his own appearance.)
Lilo: Stitch!
(Red and white lights then start flashing in the room as an intruder alert alarm starts to ring loudly. Ruby and Leroy hear it from their room, and then run to meet Hamsterviel and Pestus in the lab.)
Hamsterviel: What is going on?
Ruby: We got us some intruders, that's what's going on!
(She checks the surveillance cameras on a big screen above, and notices one of them is offline. It then suddenly comes back on, and they all notice Stitch lying on the floor.)
Ruby: I should've known!
(She leaves the office, and walks to the entrance/exit, seeing the clones guarding inside looking prepared to strike. Red and white lights are flashing all through the ship. Ruby then opens the door and sees all the clones outside looking determined.)
Ruby: It's Stitch, and he's in the imprisonment room!
(They all respond confidently to this, and prepare themselves to strike.)
Ruby: Go get 'im, boys!
(All the clones from inside and outside charge down the hall, all carrying guns. Ruby follows behind them. On a big screen in the room, Lilo and Stitch see them running.)
Stitch: They're coming this way.
Lilo: Stitch, you'd better get outta here.
Stitch: No! Not yet!
Lilo: Stitch, listen to me. There's another person they're looking for and until they find them, they won't hurt me. Nor will they go through with their plan.
Stitch: I don't care, Lilo, I'm not leaving without you!
(Having now arrived, a couple of clones kick the door open and start shooting at Stitch on sight. They fire a few shots but all miss and hit the wall.)
Clone: Hold your fire, you might hit Lilo!
(Hearing this, the clones put their guns away and start charging at Stitch. Stitch releases his lower two arms and also charges towards the clones. He manages to push, hit and throw several of them out of his way by ferociously swinging his arms. But then one grab hold of his top right arm, leaving another clone to swing its paw at Stitch's body. The force of this attack causes Stitch to scream out in pain.)
Lilo: Stitch!
(After stumbling back a couple of steps, Stitch clutches hold of his body with his lower left arm, and then removes it quickly to find a long, painful gash across his stomach. Sensing that he has taken injury, about six clones gather around Stitch and grip hold of him.)
Ruby: Bring him to me!
(The remaining clones step aside as the ones holding Stitch start to bring him to Ruby. However, just as they reach her, Stitch manages to break free from their grip, before jumping over Ruby and running out of the room. The clone then chase after him.)
Ruby: Stop him! Don't let him get out!
(Still clutching hold of his body, Stitch runs to the exit. The clones chasing him stop at the end of the hall.)
Clone: Now we can use the guns!
(So then they all prepare their blasters to fire. Stitch turns around to see them aiming at him, and then sticks all four of his arms out as far forward as he can.)
Clone: Fire!
(They all start shooting plasma bullets at Stitch, and he manages to catch them all in his four hands. The firing forces Stitch backwards, eventually to the end of the hall, but always keeps him on his feet. When he hits the wall, he is holding four large plasma balls in his hands, that have built up with every shot fired. Meanwhile, the clones have all run out of ammunition here. Ruby and Lilo are watching on the screen from the imprisonment room, stunned at what they see.)
Ruby: I don't believe it!
(Stitch then moves the plasma balls in each of his four hands into one pile that he holds in all four hands together. This creates a giant plasma ball.)
Ruby: Oh he's not thinking...
(Stitch leans back and to the left, preparing to throw the giant plasma ball at the clones.)
Lilo: Yep. He's thinking.
(He then through the plasma ball directly towards the clones, who stand there motionless and stunned. Ruby covers her eyes as she watches.)
Ruby: Oh no.
(At this point, the ball now hits the clones, creating a big explosion that wipes most of them out. This leaves Stitch free to run out of the ship. Lilo and Ruby watch as the security camera from outside shows Stitch successfully getting away.)
Lilo: He got out.
Ruby: Don't sound too happy! We'll be making a new and stronger batch tomorrow and next time, he won't be so lucky!
(She then takes out a walkie-talkie and speaks into it.)
Ruby: (sarcastic) Clean up on Aisle 8! Then we can all go to bed.
(At the hotel, the gang are watching the radar screen closely.)
Kolobos: Somebody got out. Who was it, who just ran out of there?
(At that moment, Stitch walks back into the room, clenching hold of his stomach again, and looking like he's in pain.)
Angel: Buji-bu!
(She, Kolobos and Nani all go over to assist him.)
Angel: Are you OK?
(She then notices a bit of the large cut on his stomach.)
Angel: (gasps) Oh my gosh, he's injured!
Kolobos: Quickly, let's get him in the medical room.
(Kolobos picks him up and rushes him into their medical use bedroom. Most of the others follow him inside the room too. He lays Stitch down on the empty bed, while Jumba picks up a nearby bottle of cream, and pours some of it on his hand.)
Jumba: Hold still. This ointment should help for healing from pain.
(Jumba rubs the ointment over the cut on Stitch's stomach. He feels it sting and reacts to it in slight pain.)
Kolobos: How did it happen, Stitch?
Stitch: The Leroys. About a hundred of them, they ganged up on me. One of them did this. But then I took them all out, but they'll have made a lot more by tomorrow.
(Angel walks over to him and holds his left hand.)
Angel: What about Bonnie and Clyde? Chris and Clip?
Stitch: They're still inside looking for evidence. I think they'll be OK.
(Jumba finishes rubbing the ointment over Stitch's injury.)
Jumba: That should do it. Can someone lift him up please?
(Kolobos moves to Stitch's side and lifts him up with both hands, holding him with his head in one hand and legs in the other. While he is being held up, Jumba wraps bandages around Stitch's stomach. Once he has done this, Kolobos gently puts him back down and both he and Jumba step away.)
Jumba: You should rest now, my experiment. You take it easy, and ointment should ease pain in a few hours.
Stitch: Thank you.
(Short pause, everyone starts to walk out of the room.)
Stitch: Soka, everyone.
(The others then all turn back around to listen to him.)
Stitch: I failed. I'm sorry.
Angel: Naga! You didn't fail!
Stitch: I didn't get Lilo out. I found her and I should've got her out but I didn't!
Angel: But you found her.
Melty: And you got the others in. That's good for us. Alright?
Stitch: (sighs) Yeah.
Angel: Come on, babe. You should get some sleep.
(Stitch looks at her in agreement.)
Pleakley: I'll bring a mattress in for him.
(Angel gives him a comforting hug.)
(Then back at the hideout, in the room where Lilo is, she watches worriedly as the lights all go out, leaving it pitch black.)
(Now on Planet Turo, the United Galactic Federation is now holding Gantu's trial.)
Leonard: Court is now in session. All rise for the Grandcouncil Woman of the United Galactic Federation.
(Both sides of the crowded jury stand as the Grandcouncil Woman steps up to the centre of the judges' balcony.)
Grandcouncil Woman: You may be seated.
(Everyone in the room sits back down, except for the judges and Gantu and Reuben, who stand facing the judges on a separate platform, along with a pair of guards behind each of them. Next to each other, a nervous Lily and Mandy are the last in the jury to take their seats.)
Grandcouncil Woman: The charges seen before us today: Mr. Alistair Gantu, currently on indefinite suspension from his position as Captain of the Galactic Armada, stands before us today accused of murdering fellow Armada pilot Gail Sanderson. His best friend Reuben has chosen to represent Mr. Gantu during this case, while the client for the prosecution, Chancellor Leonard Sanderson, has chosen to represent himself. Mr. Gantu, how do you plead?
Gantu: At this time, I plead not guilty...
Leonard: (interrupting) You would!
Gantu: SHUT YOUR MOUTH!
Leonard: How dare you-
Grandcouncil Woman: (calmly) Leonard, please. Let him finish. Gantu, watch your temper.
Gantu: Forgive me.
Grandcouncil Woman: You may continue.
Gantu: Thank you. I repeat that at this time I plead not guilty of murder, because I do not know whether Gail died at my bullet. I think we all have to concur that this tragedy happened by accident, and if I am proven guilty of this accident, I will serve time in jail without dispute.
Leonard: Oh no you won't, you'll be put to death for murder and for treason!
Reuben: Grandcouncil Woman, I object. Would the prosecutor please be quiet until it's his turn to speak?
Grandcouncil Woman: Objection granted. (She turns to Leonard.) This is your final warning.
(Pause, Leonard moves his head the other side of her, looking grumpy but keeping silent.)
Grandcouncil Woman: Defence, you may call your first witness.
Reuben: Grandcouncil Woman, for those who are not fully aware of what happened, I would like to start by recapping that day's events. About a week ago, Dr. Jacques Von Hamsterviel and his army of Leroy clones broke out of prison. They succeeded despite our best efforts to stop them. Our force and attacks were compromised when the BRB 9000, which we now know had been stolen by a house arrest fugitive who only calls herself Ruby, crashed through the prison, leaving with it an overwhelming fog of smoke. Gail Sanderson died after being wounded by a plasma bullet fired in that smoke. It is unclear whose blaster that fatally piercing blast came from, but the prosecutor, Chancellor Leonard Sanderson, stands before us today accusing Mr. Gantu of the incident, which he insists was murder. He is also labelling it a crime of treason, and believes Gantu set the whole thing up with our enemies, one of whom he has worked for in the past.
(These words start some mild conferring among people in the jury.)
Grandcouncil Woman: Mr. Gantu, how do you respond to these allegations?
Gantu: Well... for someone to suggest that I meant to set this up as an act of treason against the galaxy, against my Armada, and my friends, I feel angry... and I feel hurt. (Pause) I admit that I've done wrong before but, I'm a much different person now.
(He stammers and struggles to continue. The Grandcouncil Woman looks convinced by his words, unlike Leonard. Reuben turns to talk to him.)
Reuben: It's OK, you don't have to say anything else right now.
(He then turns back forward to address the Grandcouncil Woman.)
Reuben: Grandcouncil Woman, I'd like to call my first witness.
Grandcouncil Woman: Proceed.
Reuben: Thank you. The defence calls Experiment 013, Mandy, to the stand.
(Upon being called, Mandy steps out of her seat in the jury and walks over and on to a nearby platform. When she steps on it, it floats towards Reuben and Gantu and stops next to them.)
Reuben: Mandy, like everyone else here, you have no clear idea of what truthfully happened, is that correct?
Mandy: Yes. The smoke was so thick you could barely see a thing.
Reuben: Absolutely. Now you've been here the last two days and during that time, you've been viewing the footage that the security cameras picked up that day. Is that right?
Mandy: Yes it is, and I think I can provide theoretical evidence to support Mr. Gantu's innocence.
(She takes out a disc and shows it to the Grandcouncil Woman.)
Mandy: This disc contains the archive footage taken from the prison's security cameras on the day of the breakout. Grandcouncil Woman, with your permission, I would like to come up to the front and show this disc to the jury.
Grandcouncil Woman: Permission granted.
(She presses a button which moves Mandy's platform up to the Grandcouncil Woman. Mandy passes her the disc, which is then inserted into a disc tray. She then turns a keyboard of controls around for Mandy to operate. The security camera footage then appears on a projected screen, and everyone in the room watches. Mandy speaks while the footage plays, with the images changing to what she is explaining.)
Mandy: OK so this is Gantu before you see the ship crash through the building. Notice how he's using two hands and shooting directly in front of him. Now this shot here, this shows where Gantu's plasma bullets are heading. They're aiming for a selection of clones, and Gail is a good three, maybe four feet or so away to the left. At this point, you can all see how there's no way she could have been hit by these plasma blasts.
(The screen now shows footage of the BRB crashing through, which triggers some commotion and discussion in the jury.)
Mandy: And you see now, that's where the BRB 9000 crashes through the building, smoke is everywhere, nobody can see anything, but the cameras are still picking up something.
(The footage now shows a smoky screen with green plasma bullets flying everywhere. Mandy focuses on two sets on bullets being fired in the centre of the screen.)
Mandy: You can see here through all the smoke, plasma bullets are going everywhere, but take a look at these two almost directly in the middle.
(Using the controls, she slows down playback of the footage.)
Mandy: From where Gantu was standing, these two would be the sets of plasma coming from his guns. They look as though they're flying wildly because the clones are scrambling all over the place, but Gail is still a good two feet or so away from them...
(She then slows playback down even further, and zooms in here on where Gail falls from the smoke to her death.)
Mandy: … and here is where Gail falls. It looks like the fatal blast comes from the same direction where Gantu is positioned, but the shot seems to be too low and too far away for it to come from the same weapon.
(The jury mutters among themselves for a moment.)
Leonard: Well that's a very interesting theory. If I may speak now?
(Mandy turns her head to Reuben for an answer.)
Reuben: Go ahead.
(Mandy turns back around as Leonard takes the keyboard of controls from her. He uses them to rewind the video a few seconds back.)
Leonard: You mentioned how this bullet that hit Gail appeared to be too low, but look at where it comes from. Here we can see what appears to be Gantu's shots around the centre of the screen, we can see there's multiple shots being fired. But then we get to this lower shot... and it only takes one, to do the damage. Now in contrast to the higher plasma blasts that are being fired recklessly and randomly, does it not seem suspicious to anyone else that this one shot, which knocked my daughter down to her death, appears to be somewhat well aimed?
(This prompts some more muttering in the jury. Lily is now seen looking both nervous and angry.)
Leonard: Was that part of your plan, Mr. Gantu?
(Gantu doesn't answer.)
Leonard: Did you think you could sneak in a shot to take someone down and think nobody would notice? Did you try to make me look stupid?
(Gantu still doesn't answer, instead he stares angrily at Leonard.)
Leonard: Answer that... Captain!
Gantu: Choose your next words carefully, Leonard.
(Short pause, both now look angrier at each other.)
Leonard: You dare, as the accused, to give an order to me…
Gantu: I will if I must.
Leonard: You don't have the same authority you used to have, Gantu! I am the Chief of Planet Turo's Intergalactic Police and Galactic Armada, and second-in-command of the Federation. You are the disgraced captain of the Galactic Armada, standing here today accused of murder!
(Lily immediately stands up to address Leonard here.)
Lily: Accused by you and you alone!
(Leonard turns his head towards Lily.)
Leonard: I beg your pardon, Miss?
Lily: I feel sorry for Gail's death just like the rest of us here today, but she was lost in the middle of heavy smoke and the enemy's heavy numbers. And regardless of the position you work for in this federation, the bottom line is that this is a crime with over 50,000 suspects. So what gives you the right to insistently say that Gantu is the one who's guilty? What right do you have to try and turn everyone on Planet Turo against him? What right do you have to bully him like this?
(Everyone in the jury cheers and applauds Lily. The Grandcouncil Woman hits her hammer on the balcony here.)
Grandcouncil Woman: Order! Order, please!
(The jury then quietens here. Grandcouncil Woman lays her hammer back down, and Lily sits back down on her seat.)
Lily: I apologise for my outburst, Grandcouncil Woman.
Grandcouncil Woman: You are forgiven, Lily. For your words were relevant. There's tens of thousands of possible suspects in this case, any one of them could be guilty of murder, not necessarily Mr. Gantu. We don't know who Gail's killer is.
Leonard: Well if "we don't know", or some of you don't believe that Gantu is guilty, then why doesn't he take a lie detector test and find out the truth?
Reuben: Sir, Gantu has agreed to do a lie detector test. But my witness here today can testify that there are reasons why it has not happened.
Grandcouncil Woman: OK then, go ahead, and nobody else say a word.
Reuben: Mandy, as somebody who works for the government in protecting the world, you've naturally been in touch with some of our cousins on Earth. Is that true?
Mandy: Yes it is.
Reuben: And just last night you discovered some vital information. Can you please bring it to our attention?
(Short pause)
Mandy: I received a call earlier today from Cobra Bubbles, and from the Pelekai family. And I wish I could swear myself to secrecy from everyone here regarding this statement, but I can't. It needs to be said to help with this case. (Pause) I have been informed that following their breakout, our adversaries have since invaded Earth, and kidnapped Lilo Pelekai.
(This triggers stronger commotion and discussion in the jury, and a face of shock from Leonard.)
Mandy: Moreover, I was also told that in addition to Lilo, the clones have captured three of Jumba Jookiba's experiments, these being Experiments 199, 120, and 032, the last of the three being the lie detector experiment. It might also be worth noting that they ambushed Experiment 221, better known as Sparky, and as of now he is alive, but badly injured. He is currently residing with the Pelekais as his home was destroyed.
(Pause, there is more discussion among the jury members.)
Reuben: So Hamsterviel kidnaps Lilo, then captures those three experiments you mentioned, and sends his army to beat up another. He seems to have a specific plan here, why do you think he's made these choices particularly?
Mandy: Well they've been targeting Lilo ever since they broke out, I still don't know why, but my guess is that if our enemies do have a plan for her, they want to eliminate those most detrimental to it. Experiment 199 was designed to snoop around and expose people's secrets, Experiment 120 was designed to sabotage plans, and Experiment 032 is, of course, the lie detector. Why they have attacked Sparky I still don't know.
Reuben: You haven't mentioned Stitch as being threatening to Hamsterviel and Ruby's plans. Why is that?
Mandy: I was also told that before Lilo was captured, she and Stitch were being chased through town, and Stitch got overpowered by the Leroys. He escaped but not without taking injury from them.
Reuben: Ah, I see.
Leonard: And why would they consider a lie detector experiment threatening to their plan?
Mandy: Maybe because it suggests that Hamsterviel and the Leroys did kill Gail, that Gantu had nothing to do with it, and they want to keep you from knowing the real truth.
Leonard: Well they didn't succeed.
Mandy: Leonard, you've been told-
Leonard: I don't want to hear "no one knows what really happened". I know what I know!
Reuben: YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING, CHANCELLOR!
Leonard: Then answer me this! If our enemies are hiding on Earth and another little girl is in danger from them, why have your team not done anything?
Gantu: WELL I'VE BEEN IN PRISON FOR THE LAST WEEK! I went there not knowing if I had done anything wrong, but to make sure I wouldn't be responsible for anything else happening now. To anyone else here that should prove that I'm a different person now, and yet YOU, STILL WON'T GET OFF MY BACK!
Reuben: Let me ask you something, Chancellor! Why are you so sure that this is all a set-up?
Leonard: Because in my mind, the worst kind of people never change and the worst moments of history always repeat themselves. Let me remind you all that the first time your "Captain" was retired from the Armada, he moved over to the evil side. Then halfway down that line Hamsterviel escaped on his own, and Gantu had the chance to earn forgiveness from the Grandcouncil Woman by turning the rodent back in. And although he took that chance, he blew it, and how did he do that? His infamously reckless methods put another little girl in danger! Yes, after Hamsterviel broke out of prison for a second time, before creating his Leroy army, Gantu may have made you all think he was a changed man by helping to get Hamsterviel back in prison again, but do you see what these incidents have in common with each other? Every time Dr. Hamsterviel breaks out, Mr. Gantu has been there supporting him. Now this is the third time the man has escaped, and it's just a matter of time before it's proven that the circle of history has gone around once more.
Reuben: Grandcouncil Woman, I object. This man can't prove any of these allegations!
Leonard: All you need is a matter of common sense, and I can sense these things in my mind!
Gantu: WELL THEN YOUR MIND IS LOST!
(The jury breaks into discussion again, louder than before. An enraged Leonard then flinches with the urge to strike at Gantu himself, but he is quickly held back by a couple of guards. This outburst triggers loud commotion and some booing from the jury. An angry Grandcouncil Woman bangs her hammer down again.)
Grandcouncil Woman: Order! Order, please!
(The room silences once again.)
Grandcouncil Woman: Now I have had enough of this! Neither the prosecutor, nor the defendant, are to speak from now on! Is that understood?
(Leonard nods his head at this, as does Gantu.)
Grandcouncil Woman: I'm going to wrap this up momentarily. Does the defence have any further questions?
Reuben: No, ma'am.
Grandcouncil Woman: And does the witness have anything else to say?
Mandy: Yes ma'am, I do. And I think everyone needs to hear it. Can you move me to the centre of the room please?
(The Grandcouncil Woman presses the button to move Mandy to the centre of the room, where she turns to speak to everyone.)
Mandy: Like all of us, I am saddened at the loss of one of our pilots, but I do not believe that resolving this case should be our highest priority right now. Catching the escapees should, because they have Lilo locked up as a prisoner in their hiding place. Now as far as I know they're hiding underground on Earth, meaning they have moved outside of our tracking range. The original Leroy has been alive for the last three years, but because he took shelter underground we could never track his whereabouts. But our friends and cousins on Hawaii are actively watching them, and Reuben, Lily and I will be on hand to help them when we can. As it stands, all of us here, as a gathering of friends and family that populates Planet Turo, as one big ohana on our own, have already lost one of our beloved friends. And if we don't act now, then we could lose another one. And I know that Gail wouldn't want that.
(Pause, she turns back to the Grandcouncil Woman, who smiles at her inspirational words.)
Mandy: That's all, ma'am, nothing further.
Grandcouncil Woman: Thank you, Mandy, you may step down.
(She moves Mandy's platform back to the seats, where she steps down and retakes her seat in the jury.)
Grandcouncil Woman: After hearing all the information presented before us today, I have come to a suggestion. The safety of our civilisation has become intensely compromised. And as seen on the security cameras, there is some evidence that points in Mr. Gantu's direction, and stands against him in this trial. But the video footage is not 100% clear, and thus the accusations can not be fully proven at this time. Gantu, we all know that throughout your career as Captain, your methods have left you with a history of some unethical and potentially harmful actions, and there are those here today who want you imprisoned.
(She looks over at Leonard while saying this.)
Grandcouncil Woman: But nonetheless, your services have defined you as a worthy and integral force to this council. And in regards to the escapes of our enemies, and the kidnapping of poor little Lilo, I believe that trusting you should remain an open option. Therefore, my suggestion is this. (Pause) Gantu, I'd like to place you in Reuben's custody. Like your reasons for spending time in prison were, this would only be cautionary. You will not be placed under arrest, but you will be actively monitored by the council at all times. You must remain within 100 feet of Reuben, and are not permitted to carry a weapon at any time. If caught in handheld possession of any weapon, you will immediately be apprehended. Do we have a fair understanding, Gantu?
Gantu: Yes, Grandcouncil Woman, we do.
Grandcouncil Woman: Then it is decided.
(A couple of police guards approach Reuben and Gantu and attach anklets to their legs.)
Leonard: What are you doing?
Grandcouncil Woman: Leonard, I will give you justice for Gail's death. But I will not condemn a man who is not found or confirmed guilty of murder. The decision hereby stands. Court is adjourned!
(She bangs her hammer down once more. The two police guards begin to escort Gantu and Reuben out the room. Lily takes a little sigh of relief but still looks worried.)
Mandy: It'll be alright. OK?
(On the judge's balcony, the Grandcouncil Woman turns to Leonard.)
Grandcouncil Woman: After your behaviour today, Chancellor, you are hereby suspended.
(She then walks away from him. Leonard looks angry and hurt, and then takes out a picture of Gail to look at. As they near the exit, Gantu turns his head back and notices Leonard put down the photo and give him a cold stare of distrust. Angered, Gantu gives him a cold stare in return, and then exits with Reuben and the guards.)
A rescue mission does not go perfectly, but it gets Chris, Clip, Bonnie and Clyde closer to saving Lilo. And a fierce courtroom trial ends with Gantu free from prison or death, but this is not all over yet. Find out what happens next in Part 7.
